My J Crew Wishlist

I have wanted this coat since I saw it in their lookbook in August. It came out last week!

This pink bag is gorgeous and comes in kelly green too! J. Crew makes every color work with every season...
This shoes makes my heart melt. I am crazy about bows and these shoes are playful and chic!
And this ruffle dress is unbelievably cool!! I love the ballerina top and the cascading ruffles...

I love all their chunky jewelry!

Hmm...

I am constantly thinking about something creative to write. I think about what inspires me... and unfortunately, at the moment, I feel like all my emotions are directed towards this campaign and the hysteria surrounding it. A certain someone's campaign has turned into a complete freak show and well, I would just rather not waste my time thinking about it anymore.

The Emmy's Biggest Losers

Who is this clown?

He gets up and talks about ignorance in action?? And talks about how it's important for people to stand alone, for what they think is right... just had to squeeze in his political views...

What about our President, who isn't scared to stand alone for what he KNOWS is right?

What a bonehead! People like this, are what divides this country.

Orrin Hatch was on a drive one day and stopped by my parent's house to talk. He spoke about how President Bush has made every decision he has made because he is protecting our Country. He is privy to information that actors, comedians, musicians and most people in the US are completely ignorant of.

So, Smothers... if you want ignorance in action, watch Hollywood try to talk politics.

And let's not forget how stupid Sally Field looked last year at the Emmy's.

Red Carpet Bust

Is this year's Emmy Red Carpet some sort of sick joke?

Honestly J-love, bow out with grace!

There are two MAJOR reasons this just DOES NOT work...

Okay... okay... Brooke Shields looks stunning!!

Larry David's daughter looked really cute too :)

So... not a total bust... but pretty dang close. Hopefully some of these peeps redeem themselves with an award!

The Heart of the Matter

Okay... I just have to share the most amazing song with everyone! It's Don Henley's, Heart of the Matter, covered by India Arie. I heard it the other day in the car and remembered it from the wonderful, Sex and the City movie... and I have absolutely fallen in love... I've even got Nate singing along!

Please... Listen!

Proud To Be...

It was so great to see our wonderful President at the Olympic Games. How cute is the first family?

I am so proud of these guys! Phelps reaction to their win was seriously priceless!

I must say... Nate and I have really loved watching the games. Women's Volleyball was on the other morning and that's obviously NOT in my top ten events to watch. I wanted to head over to Beverly Hills for cupcakes and Nate looked at me in shock and said, "I LOVE women's volleyball! I have always loved it!"

Okay... I just looked at him like, "Is this guy joking?" I think Nate realized I was seriously confused about his love for women's volleyball... so, just to cover up, he said, "Well, I just love all of the Olympics."

Yeah right Nate...

If anyone likes to talk Women's Volleyball... he's your man!

Gold Medal Fashion

Nate and I are both SO excited about the Olympics. It is one of the greatest things a person can do and the perfect opportunity to represent the greatest country in the Universe. Of course, I am swooning over the fabulous Olympic Outfits that the athletes wore in the Opening Ceremonies! They are designed by the wonderful and classic, Ralph Lauren. I must get my hands on this outfit! David Lauren said all pieces are available for purchase!! I can't get over them, simply gorgeous!

Grand Cayman

Nate and I were so lucky! We got to go to Grand Cayman for the huns! It was hurricane season in the Caribbean, but we didn't see a single drop of rain! I recommend this place to anyone who loves crystal clear water and lots of really fabulous food... including the BEST onion rings from Margaritaville.

I loved all the random tourists. We met quite a few friends down there :) Like this wild family from Philadelphia. They really suited up to enjoy the ocean, rash guards and everything... they would just sit in the water for hours, none of them talking to each other, just sort of letting the nonexistent waves push them around, with cocktails in hand.

OUR First Home...

Sunday night, after our incredibly long drive to LA, Nate carried me into our first apartment...

I know you're wondering... how did we score a star-shaped pool??
Some guys have all the luck...

Crazy Little Thing Called Love...

I wish I could relive my wedding day over and over again. It was the most amazing and perfect day of my life. I can honestly say I would not change a single thing about that night.

Here are some pictures from that day and the events leading up to it that Emilee had... My photographer was Brody Dezember. He did a great job handling this wild bunch! The pictures are not posted on his site quite yet...

I LOVED the cakes!! Not only were they the most adorable cakes ever... exactly what I envisioned, but they tasted like heaven! Cakes De Fleur made these scrumptious art pieces!

The coral color dresses looked amazing on every single girl!

Danny and Chet outside of the temple...

Below is the carnival! I wish I had a picture of Nate's cute family too!

The wedding dinner was gorgeous! We enjoyed a perfect Salt Lake night at Tuscany! Nate and my dad sported the SAME Faconnable suit :) My two favorite guys!! And the J Crew Matilda dress worked great... after ALL the Bergdorf, Barneys, Saks and Nordstrom disasters!!

All the Cannon girls: Jenny, Mom (who looks like a sister!) Emilee, Ellie and Sarajane! My mom and Aunt Caren... of course clinging to the See's chocolates. Nate's mom has ribbon made with our names and date! SO cute! And she served our favorite chocolates: Chocolate Buttercream and Vanilla Buttercream... yummy!
We were so lucky that Jon's girlfriend, Emily made her way out from DC...
The Lockes... Nate, Gorgeous Logan, Zach, Trisha, Tyson and Lyndsey
The Love Shower... my mom with my Aunt Julie. We had FABULOUS BBQ and the tables were drenched in thick cow hides! It was a perfect night :)

Bobby, Chet and Timmy... bonding at the Love Shower

Nate and I enjoyed this gift that was supposedly from my parents... man thong, candy bra, wild dice... and then some... Thanks Chet, Ellie and Emilee!

This is just a glimpse of the perfect week. More pictures to come!

The Bride Wore Ricci

"The Bride Wore Ricci"
Author: William Norwich
In the beautiful port city of Cartagena, with helicopters buzzing overhead and nine designers for as many bridesmaids, Lauren Davis wore mini, maxi and everything in between for her spectacular wedding."

I just wanted to post some pictures of a fabulous wedding that was featured in Vogue in March. This is the wedding for Lauren Davis (Contributing Fashion Editor for Vogue and Socialite) and he billionaire husband, Andres Santo Domingo. Their wedding took place in Cartegna, Columbia (Yikes!!) Anyway, the photos really are phenomenal and I had to share it!

I love the quote above: "I don't know what anyone could do to top Lauren and Andres's wedding... except get married on the moon."

Below are the gorgeous bridesmaids, featured in nine different designer's lush pastels that match the colors of the church.

See the pretty blonde on the right?? That's Tinsley Mortimer! You likely recognize her from candid shots from the Gossip Girl set in the Hamptons...

Hot Pink and Orange

I have been swooning over the Dior dress below for a week now, ever since the Fashion show! Chanel Iman can rock just about anything... but just about anyone would look amazing in this frock!!

Including Eva Mendes!! Who beat us to the chase :(
She's gorgeous! She could wear a potato sack and still look hot... not to forget cute Liv! Who is actually wearing another Dior dress that my sister Jenny tried on in Paris... too bad all she walked away with a light up Eiffle Tower!

I found the following dress on Shop Jake! It's a healthy alternative to the fabulous Galliano design!

There's No Place Like Home

I landed in SLC yesterday and was thrilled to walk into my parent's perfect house. It smelled good and everything looked fabulous. Every time I go home, the beds look more tantalizing, the food smells better, the decorations are sparkling more and I feel like I never want to leave. I am so lucky to come back to such a wonderful home! My home holds so many important memories to me. I am sure anyone who knows me, realizes that my family is the most important thing and we have created so many great memories. So, it is particularly wonderful that for the first time in several years, my whole family will be around when Sam gets home from his mission this month. I couldn't be more excited.

The picture above is Sam's room as of today. Currently, my mom is having the daisy wallpaper from 1970 stripped from the closet, which is being repainted and redone. What a wonderful mom! A darling missionary only deserves the BEST!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Do you know what this picture represents?

This picture represents the greatest fictional heroin of all time, Rebecca Bloomwood! She is the ultimate shopaholic and the girl every girl wants to be!!  Well... most of us!

I love Becky, because she makes me laugh out loud! And I can absolutely relate to her!  As can most girls... and her love interest, Luke Brandon is perfection!  Sophie Kinsella's fabulous books will make you laugh, stay up late and read and actually hope and possibly one day get endless shopping sprees (for you and baby), traveling exotic places (and furnishing your home with foreign treasures from these places) and fabulous, luxurious surprises and excitement everyday for the rest of your life!

I just saw that this movie will be released February 13th, 2009!  And unless Nate surprises me with tickets to London for the premier (I'm assuming it will take place in Becky and Luke's hometown) I will be throwing the ultimate Confessions of a Shopaholic premier PARTY!  And if you live in Cali, ali, ali... you are invited!  This won't be a jeans and t-shirt sort of gig... Fashionistas... start your search!

Three cheers for Isla Fisher for landing the best dang role a gal can get!

Bridezilla

This picture just speaks for itself.  I am really sorry... EVERYONE!  I just can't help it.  I'm a total freak.  I feel like I am on crazy pills and this whole wedding thing is really throwing me over the edge.  That's all I have to say.  Please don't take it personally.

Happy Birthday To Sam

Sam turned 21 today! Hapy Birthday Sammy. We can't wait to see you soon!

Meeting The Man Of Her Dreams

My mom met George W. the other day at an event with Mitt Romney. My dad told him of my mom's adoration. He kissed her on the forehead, she went back to her table, cried and she compared it to meeting Jesus. She really is his biggest fan and has always adored him. It is important to support the President of our Country, even if you don't agree with him.

My mom and dad both said he was eloquent and funny. My mom has said multiple times that one day people will realize all of the good things W has done for the country. Anyway George, The Cannons support you and your decisions! Thanks for keeping us safe!

Gooble Gobble

What's the weirdest, scariest and most fascinating this ever?

Freaks... and this clip! Ooh... it gives me chills. This group of people is my worst nightmare!

Nate is constantly getting mad at me for staring at freaks. There are just so many people I don't understand. I really don't understand how they were raised and why they act the way they do.

There are a couple of freaks at the gym I workout in. There is one girl with big foofy hair that she flattens out. She wears one of two outfits:

normal bra, short, stretched out white tank top and gray pants that say "Wahoo!"
or
normal bra, short, stretched out white tank top and gray pants that say "Virginia!"

Obviously, her clothes don't make her slightly off... maybe it's the fact she wears creepy makeup and never smiles... or maybe it's because of the way she folds her little newspaper and sits on the treadmill for 2 hours EVERY night, no incline, at an incredibly slow pace... UH, it just bothers me!

And don't even get me started on the people who talk to themselves (out-loud, in public.)

I guess we're all sort of freaks in our own way.
And for the most part, they're really entertaining.

Memorial Weekend on the Cape

We were VERY lucky to be able to spend Memorial Weekend on Cape Cod. We had such a great time there. On Sunday, we biked around Martha's Vineyard and enjoyed yummy food at Black Dog. It was perfect weather and it was a great group! Chet came in for the weekend and we laughed a lot while he was around.

So... now I know where another holiday will be spent:

New Years... just a nice dinner and dancing anywhere
Valentines... somewhere in Europe
Memorial Day... Cape Cod
4th of July.... Utah
My Birthday... Disneyland (at least this year!)
Halloween... Beacon Hill
Thanksgiving... New York
Christmas... in England, at the cottage in The Holiday or at the elementary school in Love Actually, with the Prime Minister
