Gooble Gobble

What's the weirdest, scariest and most fascinating this ever?

Freaks... and this clip! Ooh... it gives me chills. This group of people is my worst nightmare!

Nate is constantly getting mad at me for staring at freaks. There are just so many people I don't understand. I really don't understand how they were raised and why they act the way they do.

There are a couple of freaks at the gym I workout in. There is one girl with big foofy hair that she flattens out. She wears one of two outfits:

normal bra, short, stretched out white tank top and gray pants that say "Wahoo!"
or
normal bra, short, stretched out white tank top and gray pants that say "Virginia!"

Obviously, her clothes don't make her slightly off... maybe it's the fact she wears creepy makeup and never smiles... or maybe it's because of the way she folds her little newspaper and sits on the treadmill for 2 hours EVERY night, no incline, at an incredibly slow pace... UH, it just bothers me!

And don't even get me started on the people who talk to themselves (out-loud, in public.)

I guess we're all sort of freaks in our own way.
And for the most part, they're really entertaining.

Memorial Weekend on the Cape

We were VERY lucky to be able to spend Memorial Weekend on Cape Cod. We had such a great time there. On Sunday, we biked around Martha's Vineyard and enjoyed yummy food at Black Dog. It was perfect weather and it was a great group! Chet came in for the weekend and we laughed a lot while he was around.

So... now I know where another holiday will be spent:

New Years... just a nice dinner and dancing anywhere
Valentines... somewhere in Europe
Memorial Day... Cape Cod
4th of July.... Utah
My Birthday... Disneyland (at least this year!)
Halloween... Beacon Hill
Thanksgiving... New York
Christmas... in England, at the cottage in The Holiday or at the elementary school in Love Actually, with the Prime Minister

Let's Go Red Sox...

Nate and I were very excited when Spencer and Jenny offered us Sox tickets! We knew it would be the last one we would get to go to in a long time...

We enjoyed the freshest Fenway Franks! I was immediately inspired to call my dad and make sure we could have hot dogs at my wedding!

Fenway Park is such a great, historical place. The people are wild and the walk home is almost as entertaining as the game...

California Dreamin'

So... WONDERFUL NEWS!! Nate got a job! In Los Angeles!

I am so excited for him. And I know he is thrilled too. I am having a hard time thinking about leaving Boston. Nate and I both are... but every time we feel that cold gust of wind, or see a rat in the North End or can't find a good, late night place to eat... Nate begins singing

California Dreamin....

I chime in

Cal-I-Fornia Dreamin... on such a winters day...

You know... the mamas and papas song!

But how could I be sad to move to such a gorgeous place?

It's not that LA is awful, but we have paid our dues this winter in Boston!!! I have endured some serious cold weather and painful walks along the waterfront and now, just as the yachts are pulling into the harbor and the sun is shining and Newbury is screaming my name, I have to leave?? I'm excited for Nate. He takes off in a week and a half and I know this will so great for both of us. But I will really, really miss Boston. I just hope we end up here eventually... oh well, we will have to see!

If I Never See Your Face Again

Wow! Most people know that my favorite band in the entire world is Maroon 5. I saw them for the first time with my friend Sarah at Club DV8 in Salt Lake City. They opened for some weird cowboy band and actually... we missed most of the show. Last year, Jenny and I saw them at another small club in Boston. There could not have been more than 200 people there. It was, maybe the most amazing concert ever, besides Jimmy Buffett of course!

Anyway, they collaborated with Rihanna to bring you "If I Never See Your Face Again."

You MUST check this video out! If I Never See Your Face Again, Featuring Rihanna

Happy Mother's Day Mom...

I'm a day late, but I have been searching for a picture of my mom and this is the only one I had on my computer. My mom won't pose for pictures, even though she has the prettiest smile and her eyes are sparkly Simmonds' eyes!! If you do get a picture of Sally, she is flipping the bird...

I love my mom for so many reasons. I don't think I could have been blessed with a more perfect mother. She has made my life so wonderful and has raised me with my best friends... ALL of my Siblings! She is the best cook and baker a girl can find.

I grew up loving to tickle her back and give her foot rubs. For some reason, it helped me to fall asleep when she could relax. Mom, I love you so much!

May 10, 2008

What is SO great about May 10, 2008? The LONG awaited wedding of the first daughter Jenna Bush at her ranch in Texas! Her lovely gown is Oscar de la Renta, the fabulous New York designer, who also designed First Lady, Laura Bush's red gown for the inauguration! So clearly, the Bush Family are major fans!! I think this is about the most adorable picture of our Dear President and his cute girls!!

Ok... ok... that is NOT the most important thing that happened on May 10, 2008. It was my gorgeous fiance's 26th Birthday!

We celebrated with our friends, Ellie and Nick at Ellie's fabulous cabin in Franconia, New Hampshire. We whipped up steaks, mashed potatoes, grilled veggies and a yummy chocolate cake to ring in the Birthday Boy's 26th! Nate is SO happy that one day a year, it's all about him!

Costume Institute Ball

I thought I would post a couple of my favorite pictures from the Costume Institutes's Annual Ball. Above is Jacquetta Wheeler... one of my favorite supermodels, with the VERY best hair!! I think her dress is so striking!! I just LOVE ruffles this season! They are so feminine and nostalgic!

I feel very lucky for everything I have in my life, but one little luxury I would love... is to be on the very elite guest list of some of these phenomenal events that I can only imagine going to... oh well! Pictures will have to do!

Below is the gorgeous, Chanel Iman... a young and incredibly successful model! Take a good look... you'll start seeing her everywhere! Including the most recent GAP campaigns with Coco Rocha! She is pictures with Phil Collins' daughter, Lily... you may recognize her from the Crillon Ball. She wore a phenomenal vintage Chanel white dress! It was artwork! She looks so adorable here! Very sophisticated and chic! The wild thing is...neither of these gals are even legal!! Must be nice...

Below is Lily Collins at Crillon Ball. Ellie (my baby sister) fell in love with the dress the minute she saw it. It would be a great inspiration for a vintage looking wedding gown! I definitely thought about it...

Boston

So... Nate is in the process of finding a job. I was so thrilled when he was looking in Boston. We had found the perfect apartment on the waterfront (our favorite place to sit!) It had a balcony, which would be perfect for Christmas lights and it looked over the gorgeous Boston harbor! When things didn't look too great in Boston, we knew we had to back out... which we did! And now the apartment is taken :(

Nate is now looking all around the globe. The truth is, I REALLY don't want to leave this city! Granted, it is freezing for half of the year, but from here through Christmas, it is simply put, magical! Summer here could not possibly get better. I got to take advantage last summer, visiting Winnipesaukee, going to Red Sox games, walking down Newbury EVERY Saturday, waffles at Paramount, and nights sitting on the bench, looking at the yachts.

Fall is the greatest season of all. The air is crisp, the leaves are remarkable shades of orange and red. Trick or Treating in Beacon Hill is like stepping back in time. There are children everywhere! Every door is wide open and you can see into the Halloween parties and smell the apple cider!

Christmas anywhere, to me, is perfect. No where can beat Sally's Christmas house.

And unfortunately, until about May... it's incredibly cold.

But the moment the sun comes out and the wind vanishes, I can't imagine being anywhere else...

Thank you Boston! You helped me to find one of the greatest cities in the world!

The Country Club, Salt Lake City

I am incredibly happy to have my dream wedding at the Salt Lake Country Club! The interior and exterior are gorgeous! I love the Tuscan flair and the gorgeous colors that have inspired my own wedding. I will also have my bridals taken here... hopefully I can get a couple of pictures with the Dunn Group... my dad's elite golfing club! Different shades of pink, coral, yellows and creams will compliment the wonderful atmosphere! It will feel light, airy and VERY fairytale like!

Antique Ribbon

I have finally chosen my gown! The very talented Penny Perkins will be making it!! My gown has been, probably, my biggest concern! I had the perfect gown, ready with a zillion pictures for her to make. The moment I sat down, we started talking and now I am doing something I could only dream up! It is gorgeous and exactly what I want... different, colorful, but very elegant! A mix of my favorties!! Oscar, Monique and Carolina. And who can blame me? They are only amongst the most amazing designers in the world! I really needed a piece of each of them! The only thing I need to find is some fabulous antique ribbon to tie around the gown. Much like the gorgeous ribbon seen above! Which I just found out can be found here: fabulous antique ribbon!
